Demographics

In addition to its growing business and industrial community, Noble offers quick access to major employers such as Johnson Controls, Tinker Air Force Base, (Astellas Pharma Technologies, Hitachi, the National  Center for Employee Development (formerly the Postal Training Center), and many more. The top five industries in Cleveland County, with regard to employment, are services, government, finance, insurance and real estate. Statistically, the unemployment rate is nearly a full percent lower than the national average.

Size

Noble contains approximately 18 square miles within its incorporated boundaries. Slaughterville, bordering Noble to the south and east, adds another 25 square miles to our school and marketing districts. The Noble Public School District encompasses approximately 127 square miles, including a portion of south Norman.

Terrain

Noble is surrounded by rolling hills glowing with deep, rich red soil. Deep, rich red or rich, deep red soil?  Wooded areas and small creeks dot the countryside, bordered on the west by the South Canadian River. 

Location

Noble is located in central Cleveland County, three miles south of Norman, the county seat. It is part of the Oklahoma City metroplex and is located 30 miles south of the state capitol, 130 miles southwest of Tulsa, and 192 miles north of Dallas.

Climate

Noble experiences temperate weather with relatively mild winters.  Rainfall is distributed fairly evenly throughout the year, with a few heavier downpours in spring and winter. The average growing season is 220 days. Extreme weather is limited to brief periods in summer and winter.

Transportation

Two four-lane highways traverse Noble.  U.S. Highway 77 and State Highway 9 provide easy access to Interstate 35, a short 7.5 miles away.  As part of an area that serves as a transcontinental highway system hub, there is major access for the trucking industry.


Noble is located 26 miles from Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City, and six miles from Max Westheimer Airpark in Norman.
